I hold a Ph.D. in psychology and I am a licensed psychologist (CA License PSY9353) serving individuals, families, stepfamilies, adults, adolescents and children since 1977 in volunteer, HMO and private practice settings in New York and California. I have been in private practice in Los Altos and Saratoga/San Jose since 1980.
I am twice past president of the Santa Clara County Psychological Association's board of directors and I have held various offices on that board since 1986. I was chairperson of the Ethics Education Committee for many years and was the chair of the county's Public Interest Committee. In addition, I have served the American Red Cross as a certified Disaster Response Mental Health Professional. I provide consultation for mental health professionals and I mentor new psychologists.
For several years, I have studied the work of serving those at the end of life with Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen, Co-founder and Medical Director of the Commonweal Cancer Help Program in Bolinas, CA. Now, with my dog, I serve as a volunteer for the Canine Corps. Together, my canine and I visit people living with the challenges of dementia, as well as chronic and terminal illnesses.
